By joining Abercrombie & Kent Europe you are not joining just any old travel organisation – you are becoming part of an extremely motivated, forward looking, successful, up-market travel company, a family company that is dedicated to offering a personalised and highly efficient service to the discerning traveller. Abercrombie & Kent Europe Ltd is part of the Abercrombie & Kent Group of companies that consists of Destination Management Companies (DMCs) such as ourselves, and Tour Operating Companies (more on our TOCs below) and Group headquarters.
Abercrombie & Kent Europe developed from a joint venture company called The Great Rail Express Co, the office opened in Burford, Oxfordshire in 1997. The main programme was our escorted tour programme, Great Journeys of Europe; but operations soon expanded into the handling of FIT (Foreign Independent Travel) business, i.e. tailor-made arrangements for independent clients of A&K Inc in Illinois. This has proved to be a huge success with sales increasing every year. The next new area was Special Groups which was set up at the end of 1997. Special Groups handles touring groups, special interest groups, incentives etc. throughout Europe.
Our purchasing department handles the Company’s purchasing and contracting requirements.
We have a marketing team responsible for promoting our business through various channels and with our different brands.
We also have an office in Moscow and in 2004 we opened our office in Florence. In 2017 we opened a new office in Madrid which will focus on Spain and Portugal.
