We are looking for a passionate intern that is interested in global sustainability from a systems perspective.
What we do
The FSLCI is a global community organization in the field of life cycle thinking / product sustainability. We promote the application of a life cycle thinking to make better decisions about sustainability questions.
How we do it
We are a truly international organization with around 200 members around the world. We organize workshops, summer schools, webinars and other events around life cycle thinking and offer a global information hub with a jobs market and events calendar for the global life cycle community.
Why we do it
Even though sustainability has become somewhat of a mega-trend over the past few years, few decision-makers in politics and industry understand well how to actually assess sustainability impacts properly. Too often people focus on one indicator (e.g. climate) or one life cycle phase (e.g. production), but sustainability impacts occur throughout all life cycle phases and over all sustainability indicators. With the backing of the life cycle community, we seek to change the way decision-makers think about sustainability. And thereby help them be best informed when they make their decisions.
Your tasks
Our day-to-day business operations are carried out by our Managing Director – our only full-time employee who is supported by volunteers from around the world. Your tasks during the internship would vary a lot and thus the internship would provide you with a great way to look into different fields such as communication, PR, project management and event planning. We are based out of a really nice co-working space in Berlin (the wonderful Machwerk) and thus you would also get access to a great community of other awesome social and sustainability initiatives.

Join us if you want more creative freedom, opportunity and responsibility than in any other role. Join us if you’re willing to say yes to things even if you’re not sure how to do it! We might throw you into cold water and challenge you to try new things, but we will make sure that you will be able to swim and conquer any challenges
We are a small non-profit run like a start-up – hence our resources are precious and we’re constantly asked to make magic with what we’ve got! We promise that what you learn and create with us will stay with you forever.
